Dolby Headphones

Are you a music freak like me? Because the things I am going to talk about will be of any interest to you if you like spending time listening to music and doing nothing else. If I am free I listen to music, If I am busy I still listen to music. Whoah! Whoah! Hold on I am not talking about Carnatic music here, that requires lot of dedication and you need to drill your mind to just appreciate the quality of the music. What I am referring to is just plain simple music, which soothes you mind when you listen to it! I normally listen using my 5.1 speaker system (Dolby certified) but I am not allowed to use that if its late night my parents would just not stop shouting at me. During that time I use Dolby Headphones heard of this before?

Dolby Headphones is a new headphones from Dolby is that whatchu think? Nope! you are wrong. A Dolby headphone is a new technology that incorporates Dolby effects in any normal stereo headphones. It's a sound processing technique patented by Dolby Laboratories. Once you start listening to music using this Dolby headphones technology, I am telling you will never again go back to stereo. You can very easily compare the effects by playing the same song in stereo and then using Dolby headphones.

Dolby headphone technology comes built-in with DVD playing softwares like PowerDVD, WinDVD etc. Since these softwares are developed for movie playback they lack features (library, playlist, equalizer etc.) that you get in audio players.

MusicMatchJukeBox is one such player that addresses this issue. It's a comprehensive tool, which can play, rip, burn, search music files on the web and what not. You can download a Dolby Headphone plug-in to this player and enjoy full Dolby effects to any file that is played using this player. Get the plug-in here

Why Love is Blind??

I got this forward through one of my friend, with a note saying "love-sick forward", I sent a reply back saying. "Don't you think this forward is composed in a very nice way", I really loved the way they have merged the characteristics with characters in this story. Though this is kind of similar to the famous story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. It still requires a little appreciation. I instantly got a reply back saying, "This is not a sick "love forward" but a forward which is love-sick. Wow I was amazed to get this reply. My friend had made "forward" a character and I loved it.

Now, move on to the "Love is blind" story …

A long time ago, before the world was created and humans set foot on it, God had put all the human "qualities" in a separate room. Since all the qualities were bored they decided to play hide & seek. "Madness" was one of the qualities and he shouted: "I want to count, I want to count And since nobody was crazy enough to want to seek "Madness", all the other qualities agreed. So "Madness" leaned against a tree and started to count: "One, two,three..." As "Madness" counted, the qualities went hiding. "Treason" hid in a pile of garbage.. "Lie" said that it wo! uld hide under a stone, but hid at the bottom of the lake. And Madness continued to count "... seventy nine, eighty, eighty one..." By this time, all the qualities were already hidden -except "Love " .For stupid as "Love " is, he could not decide where to hide. And this sh! ould not surprise us, because we all know how difficult it is to hide "Love". "Madness": "...ninety five, ninety six, ninety seven..." Just when "Madness" got to one hundred........."Love" jumped into a rose bush where he hid. And Madness turned around and shouted: "I'm coming, I'm coming!" As Madness turned around, "Laziness" was the first to be found, because "Laziness" was too lazy to hide. "Madness " searched madly and found "Lie" at the bottom of the lake. One by one, Madness found them all - except Love. Madness was getting desperate, unable to find Love. Envious of Love, "Envy" whispered to "Madness ": "You only need to find Love, and Love is hiding in the rose bush." "Madness" Jumped on the rose b! ush and he heard loud cry . The thorns in the bush had pierced "Loves" eyes. Hearing the commotion God came into the rrom and saw what had happened. He got very angry and cursed "Madness" and said since "Love" has become blind becos of u ...u shall always be with him" And so i! t came about that from that day on, Love is blind and is always accompanied by Madness.!

The Evolution Of The Kiss

Came across this (see below) info on the web, was wondering if India had any such custom in the past. Kiss, I guess does not belong to Indian tradition. if it had been why kiss is not so common like in European countries. Any way just go through the evolution of Kiss below. It has an interesting history.

In the sixth century, society apparently accepted the custom of kissing between adults as an _expression of affection. Not surprisingly the French accepted kissing during courtship, in amour (love in French). In those days figure dancing (dancing in prescribed patterns from a stationary position) was a craze and each dance was sealed with a kiss!

The custom of dancing swept across from France through Europe to Russia, where Russian nobility liked to ape the French!

Eventually the kiss was incorporated in marriage ceremonies. (Today lip kisses lock couples in sweet matrimony at least in the West!)

The custom of kissing was also regarded as a sign of respect by many cultures. For instance the early Romans kissed on the mouth or the eyes in a manner they deemed to be dignified. One roman emperor ranked a persons importance by the body part he was allowed to kiss. Nobles could kiss his lips, less important ones could kiss his hands and the lowest cadre could kiss his feet!

In Russia, the highest sign of recognition from the crown was a kiss from the Tsar himself.

Even today natives of many African tribes pay homage to their chief by kissing the ground on which he has trodden upon!
